Telemundo has named Gaby Espino host of “Buscando Mi Ritmo,” a reality music competition premiering July 19. Espino has appeared in a number of telenovelas throughout her career, including “Santa Diabla,” “Ojo por Ojo” and “Mas Sabe el Diablo.”
ABC News has named Subrata De vice president of multiplatform newsgathering, which includes domestic, foreign, digital and social media. De was previously at NBC News, where she was executive producer of “Andrea Mitchell Reports” and senior producer on “Nightly News.”
Partners+ Napier has named Matt Dowshen managing director in its New York office, replacing the departed Andrea Spiegel. Dowshen was previously senior partner and director of client services at Ogilvy.
Rodrigo Lino has been promoted to vice president and creative director at Casanova Pendrill, an integrated Hispanic ad agency. Lino has been with the agency for eight years, and before that he was at Ogilvy & Mather. In addition, Casanova Pendrill has made 10 other recent hires: Patricio Luna as creative director; Claudio Martínez-Valle, Gino Ginocchio and Jonathan Jauregui as senior copywriters; Belinda Delgadillo and Tamara Tripp as junior copywriters; Elena Meazzo as a senior producer; Ismael Díaz as a senior art director; and Danny Vicente and Gabriel Sanchez as art directors.
Guggenheim Media has promoted Lynne Segall to executive vice president and group publisher, working with both The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. Segall was most recently senior vice president and publisher for The Hollywood Reporter.
Alyssa Mastromonaco has joined Marie Claire magazine as a contributing editor, consulting on story ideas, trends and women to watch, in addition to writing. Mastromonaco is a former White House deputy chief of staff.
New York magazine has brought in Annie Lowrey as a contributing editor, and she’ll also work as an online columnist for NYMag.com’s Daily Intelligencer. Lowrey was previously an economic policy reporter at The New York Times.
Michael Uriarte has been promoted to director of marketing and events at Greenspun Media, which publishes the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Weekly and Las Vegas Magazine, among other publications. Uriarte had been strategic partnership manager.
Dave Helmreich has been named chief executive officer at advertising technology company Audience Partners, replacing Jeff Dittus, who will remain as chairman of the board. Helmreich was most recently senior vice president of media and advertising at Neustar.
Syfy has added Laura Mennell to the cast of “Haven” for its fifth season, in a recurring role as an epidemiologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mennell is no stranger to Syfy, previously appearing on “Alphas.”
Greg D’Alba has joined WWE, becoming president of global sales and marketing. D’Alba was most recently at CNN, where he was president of digital advertising sales and marketing.
