Robert Osborne, a film historian and longtime host on Turner Classic Movies, has died at age 84. No cause was given. Osborne served as primetime host on TCM since the network launched in 1994. He was also an actor early in his career, making a few appearances on “The Beverly Hillbillies.”
Brian Katz has been named vice president of advanced TV insights and strategy at Eyeview, a video marketing technology company. Katz was most recently senior vice president of audience and purchaser insights at TiVo.
Production studio The Collective @ LAIR has brought in Chris Dealy as a partner, effective immediately. Dealy joins from JWT, where he was executive creative director.
Video personalization company IRIS.TV has made three promotions, naming Christian De Gennaro executive vice president of sales, Rohan Castelino vice president of marketing, and Ryan Pershad director of sales and business development. All three are based in the company’s New York office.
Experiential marketing agency Gradient has named Pauline Oudin partner and managing director, in charge of agency growth. Oudin was most recently at the food-focused agency Sopexa USA.
FCB Chicago has made two hires, naming John Regan and Tor Lemhag vice presidents and creative directors. The duo previously worked together at Leo Burnett.
New York Media has named Avi Zimak chief revenue officer and publisher, in charge of sales across the company’s brands. Zimak was previously vice president and general manager for the Americas at Outbrain.
Ed Finn, editor at Barron’s for the past 22 years and president for the past 19, is leaving the financial title. Barron’s Digital editor Jack Otter will serve as interim editor until a permanent replacement is found.
Hearst Magazines has named Christopher Tennant executive editor at Harper’s Bazaar, reporting to editor in chief Glenda Bailey. Tennant had been editor in chief and creative director at Man of the World magazine.
Active Interest Media has named Matt Samet editor, replacing Julie Ellison, who will remain on as editor at large. Samet has worked with the magazine for more than 20 years and was previously editor from 2007 to 2010.
The Washington Post has promoted Barbara Vobejda, naming her deputy managing editor. Vobejda had been news editor at the paper.
Vox Media has named Elena Bergeron editor in chief at SB Nation, a new position at the sports-focused site. Bergeron had been executive editor.
